Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, pricing, and booking to help you decide.

Our commercial team will contact you to understand your exact requirement.

Oftentimes, an existing gas mixture will satisfy the ranges of bespoke requirements which means you get the gas on shorter lead times and more competitively priced.

If a new mixture is required we will undertake a technical and safety review within 1 working day and provide you with a quotation and lead time.

Each year we ship specialized dangerous goods consignments to more than 120 countries. We partner with global logistics networks who regularly evolve their offerings so we can find solutions to most locations.

Working across all of the major Incoterms, we deliver to factories, logistics hubs, airports and even marine vessels docked at the quay side! From time to time, depending on geopolitical climates, there will be international restrictions placed upon certain countries.

Our logistics teams are consistently updated with the latest information and will guide you through any restrictions as they arise, and provide you with the various shipping methods available to permitted destinations.

Many of our core products are made available for next day dispatch from our manufacturing plants, with the rest of our products on highly competitive lead times.

When placing your order please let us know the lead time that you require and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Additionally, any quotations provided by our sales team will have the lead time for each item clearly specified.

Our shelf life is determined by years of repeatable data and process improvement which enables us to be competitive and provide solutions for customers who do not use their gas as soon as it is purchased.

We evolve shelf life as improvements are made and therefore you should refer to the label on your cylinder which will give you an accurate date. Regulators are a little different. Providing they are in good condition a regulator will only need to be changed every two years.

However, you should check it for signs of damage or corrosion before each use to maintain safety standards and achieve the best levels of accuracy. This is especially important when you are working with more reactive products such as mixtures that contain chlorine.

If you have a question about shelf life prior to receiving your product please ask for this in your quotation request as our sales representatives can add the information to the quotation.

The checklist below will help our Customer Service Representatives to load your order without delay:

  • Company Name and address
  • Calgaz account Number
  • Delivery Address
  • Name, Phone Number and Email Address of the recipient
  • Preferred Delivery method and Inco-term (e.g. Ex Works, DAP, FCA)
  • The products and quantities you require, with the Calgaz product code, price and description included
  • The requested dispatch date
  • Any requirements for customer owned labels

If any of the above elements are missing or are unclear, our Customer Service Representatives will contact you for clarification.

As we cannot process your order without this information, processing will be delayed until it is received in full.

Once the order has been processed you will receive an order confirmation, which specifies the dispatch date.

We are implementing QR codes on all of our cylinder labels which anyone who has the cylinder can scan and view the SDS and COA. This means that anyone needing this information has instant access 24/7.

You do not need to download any apps or create log-in details, and the codes are compatible with all smart phones and tablets. Two of our three production facilities are now fully converted to QR codes, with the third site completing the transition by the end of 2026.

During this transition phase, some cylinders will have physical paper copies of the SDS and COA packaged with them at point of dispatch.

We often find that customers misplace these paper copies so if you do require a copy during this interim period you can contact our Customer Service Representatives who will be happy to support you.

We work quickly to rectify any problems our customers face. Reach out to our Customer Service team and provide a brief description of the issue, along with your account number and contact details.

In the first instance we will work with you to provide a quick replacement or credit according to your preference. We may decide that the issue requires investigation to support our continuous improvement as we want to ensure that errors are remedied to avoid repeating them.

If this is the case, once we have provided you with the initial replacement or credit, we would appreciate you working with us to obtain pertinent information and possibly return products to us (at our cost) to support our investigation.

Each year we conduct a voice of customer survey to gather data about what we do well, what we need to improve and what evolving needs and requests our customers have.

However, if you wish to give us feedback outside of this process we will be very pleased to hear from you.

You can give a shout out to someone who has gone above and beyond, highlight something you find doesn’t work as well or make an improvement suggestion.
